IC99 Kids I just have to say, this conference was especially sweet for me. After many years of having my daughter tag along with my Urantia Book persuasions, she has decided at this conference that the bells are starting to ring true to her. She's pretty stubborn. I gave her a good shot at a religious upbringing by shotgunning her into Catholic school(my "alma religious mater"). After high school, she was pretty fed up with religion due to some fairly extreme fundamental spiritual experiences. The previous conference in Phoenix kind of broke the ice and she got an idea of what kind of people were involved with daddy's cult following. Needless to say, she approved highly but still thought the book was too heavy. She did say that any Urantia conference that came up she'd HAVE to go. So, then comes Vancouver. During the conference she appeared to me as a ghost with joy in her eyes saying the UB has found a home in her heart. Needless to say, I was overwhelmed. I told her she had years of study to put into the book and with much approval in my samoan way...... turned away, looked up into the sky and gave my TA a high five. The next conference, in my hopes and dreams, I'd love to see 5000 plus quality UB folk attend. I am offering my services to broadcast what I can from my neck of the net. We need more quality UB folk. Our kids need our support desparately. | |
